New pneumatic tires of rubber take heading 4011 of the US tariff, with lines by the vehicle they are used on: motor cars on 4011.10, buses and trucks on 4011.20, and machinery on 4011.80 and 4011.90. Radial passenger tires on 4011.10.10 print 4%, other passenger tires on 4011.10.50 print 3.4%, and truck radials on 4011.20.10 print 4%. All show List 3: +25% for Chinese goods. These lines also appear on the Section 232 lists for passenger vehicle parts and truck parts, at +25%, and goods under those leave the 60-economy duty. So for $10,000 of radials from Thailand, the calculator gives $1,650 (16.5%) without the program, and the program moves it to an ordinary-plus-232 total. Antidumping and countervailing orders can apply too, and they are not in the tool. Read in 2026 HTS Revision 22 on November 2, 2026.

The auto parts choice

The list names these lines, and the note ties scope to use on passenger vehicles and light trucks. Pick the program when your tires are for those vehicles. The tool’s default stays on None for parts, so try both and read the note. For machinery tires, such as radial lines at 4011.80.20 with 4%, the auto list is less likely to matter.

Questions importers ask

Do retreaded and used tires take the same code?

No. Heading 4012 covers retreaded or used pneumatic tires, along with solid tires, cushion tires and flaps, and heading 4013 covers inner tubes. They have their own rates. We did not read rules from other agencies on these goods. Enter the exact line in the calculator instead of using the new-tire rate for a used-tire shipment.

Do antidumping duties apply to imported tires?

They can. Commerce published preliminary results of an antidumping review on passenger vehicle and light truck tires from Thailand in October 2026, in document 2026-20779, and rates vary by producer. We did not copy the rates, and the calculator leaves them out. So look for notices on your own country, tire type and factory, or ask your broker, before you set a price.

Are bicycle tires on the same heading?

Bicycle tires have their own line within heading 4011, as do tires for motorcycles and aircraft, and they do not follow the car lines. Check the line you pick in the calculator, as the Section 232 auto parts program should not apply to a bicycle tire. A wrong line here means the wrong rate as well as the wrong list for Chinese goods.
