Antidumping duties answer imports sold below fair value, and countervailing duties answer foreign subsidies. Under 19 U.S.C. 1673 and 1671, they follow determinations by the Commerce Department and an injury finding by the US International Trade Commission. CBP has an AD/CVD page, which we list as a pointer. They differ from every other layer on this site in one important way: they are not printed in the rate columns of the tariff schedule. That is why our calculator leaves them out and says so under each result. Note 52 of the tariff confirms these orders keep applying alongside the country duty. Before you price a product, check whether an order covers it. Commerce’s notices in the Federal Register name the product and the country, as its 2026 results for softwood lumber from Canada and aluminum extrusions from China show. Read on November 2, 2026.

Where this layer sits

Think of your entry as a stack: ordinary duty, then chapter 99, then AD/CVD on top. Take steel nuts on 7318.16, with Free ordinary duty, and List 4A: +7.5% for China. The calculator gives $5,750 (57.5%) on $10,000 without any metals program. Any order would be added to that, as a percentage or an amount, and we offer no estimate. We have not read a case for this example, so it does not imply that an order exists.

Steps to check

  1. Write down your product, in plain words, and its country of origin.
  2. Read the list of orders from Commerce, or ask a broker.
  3. If a name looks close, read the scope in the Federal Register.
  4. Get the case number and rate in writing.

What we chose not to print

A table here would go out of date. So this page names the process, and links to CBP’s page.

Questions importers ask

How do I find out if an antidumping order covers my product?

Read the scope of the orders for your product and country, which Commerce publishes as notices in the Federal Register. Under 19 CFR 351.225, scope language can be written in general terms, and Commerce can issue a scope ruling at the request of an interested party. A ruling that a product is covered means it has always been covered. A broker can run the search with you.

Can an exporter pay antidumping duties for me?

It can cost you. Under 19 CFR 351.402(f), when Commerce calculates the export price, it deducts any antidumping or countervailing duty that the exporter or producer paid on behalf of the importer or reimbursed to it. In effect, that can raise the margin. The same rule asks importers for a statement on reimbursement. Read it, and take legal advice, before you accept such an offer from a seller.

Why does the calculator leave these duties out?

Because they are not in the tariff’s rate columns, which is what it reads. Orders are published as separate notices, and the notices we saw on November 2, 2026, cover products as different as boxes, trailers and pipes. A table of them on this site would need its own reading and would go out of date. So we name the process, and we add nothing to the total for it.
